Hi,
Perhaps I am missing something here, but on the earlier V5 you used to be able to put the day as a "*", and a date of the "25", and the month "Dec". So that it would auto each year. However now on V6 it seems you have to put a year in?

Thanks Paul.

Debian / Just tried a V6 with Stretch (9)
November 15, 2019, 04:46:50 PM
Hi all

Had a few idle moments so thought I would fire up a Vm (Vmware) to have another play with version 6.

Cannot get it to install,  the error is this:-

Err:1 http://sailpbx.com/sail/sail-6.0/debs/repo stretch/main amd64 sail all 6.0.1-46+deb9u1
  404  Not Found
E: Failed to fetch http://sailpbx.com/sail/sail-6.0/debs/repo/pool/main/s/sail/sail_6.0.1-46+deb9u1_all.deb  404  Not Found
E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

Should I be trying this version? or the later 7 now? The only instructions I found were for Version 6?

Regards Paul

General Discussion on SAIL and Asterisk / V6
February 14, 2019, 09:33:04 PM
First chance I have had to have a play with V6, think something went wrong with the DB I moved over, as I cannot edit any of the extensions or trunks! There are no edit buttons, or anyway I can see to edit either. Only way to get at the config of a phone is by discover.

Will try a clean install and see how that goes. Just in case.

Need a bit of clarification for the entry below.

_XXXX.    Class    default    All    IVR Welcome    IVR Closed    None    NO    YES

Does that actually mean that *anything* coming in should go to the IVR Welcome? My understanding was that _XXXX. Was the default and should just route all?
Ideally I would even like 4 digit peers to go to the IVR too. (Annoying friends who call out of hours :-)  )
Now I must admit it has always been a mental block for me, so really appreciate your help.

Just did a clean install of V6, what an impressive product it now is!

Did try and upgrade but that failed, and I assume though lack of Wheezy version? That will teach me not to read everything on the page.

Quick question? Is it still possible to move the DB over to V6 and have it upgrade? as previous versions? Any caveats?

Happy New Year.

General Discussion on SAIL and Asterisk / SRTP TLS
September 08, 2018, 10:48:25 AM
Hi.

Experimenting as I have been asked about remote phones for a customer, sadly VPN is not an option.

Found a document on you distributors blog:-
https://blog.provu.co.uk/tag/sark/

And pretty much followed what it said to the letter. Have managed to convert the pem I found on the sark box (must have been pre-generated on install) Converted that to DER which the snom wanted and uploaded to the phone fine. Enabled the server auth part. And I can see the cert in the server cert tab on the phone.

No some of the settings seem to equate to an earlier version of Sark? And I was loathed to start fiddling with conf files without knowledge. So in the extensions I have selected TLS SRTP but looking at the asterisk tab in extension I see this at the bottom :- #include sark_sip_tls.conf
Is that supposed to be hashed out?
The settings on identity are :-
Outbound proxy 10.81.0.4:5061;transport=tls
RTP AES80 RTP SAV to Mandatory

At this stage the phone will not connect, and I wonder if there is any further documentation specific to Sark 5 that would help me understand, resolve the problem?

Hi

I have a customer who has an s200, but they now need to purchase the next model up. Out of curiosity and to try and prepare the swop over, I built up a debian install of Sail.
Backed up the working s200 and restored the backup to the new debian. The restore seemed to hang and do very little, no completed etc shown. However after the restore I could not log into the web interface, and all I got was "Could not exec password" I tried both the default password, and the one from the s200.

So in essence, can you restore version 5 between different hardware? I assumed yes?

Debian / S200 Upgrade to latest, Ldap install
March 09, 2016, 05:13:49 PM
Hi.
I have followed the Wiki to the letter on install for 4.1 which, I was informed was not Beta now? not only on an s200 but also a virtual deb install (Test machine) I get Ldap failure.

Set domain to myserver.local in network tab.

Installed sail as instructed, version now 4.1.0-10, also armel,39

Further down the document is states to install Ldap, but this was installed by the Sail package already.

Did set the domain name to myserver.local and checking on the  /opt/sark/cache/ldapcontactou.ldif
dn: ou=contacts,dc=myserver,dc=local
objectClass: organizationalUnit
objectClass: top
ou: contacts

Ran this from a troubleshooting article for LDAP
ldapsearch -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi:/// -b cn=config

And the above within that is right. dc's etc.

Any idea where to troubleshoot this problem? as there is no other message displayed other than Ldap error, other than when I try to enter something :- saildeb/admin - LDAP ERROR - Strong(er) authentication required

Must admit I am not too bothered about the debian test machine, so if you have a later image for the s200 with it installed, that would be good.

Debian / Single way comms with IAX truck
February 02, 2016, 11:22:53 AM
Ever one to make myself look dumb.

But I need to clear this one up in my head. I have two raspi sails and a Debian virtual sail on my test bench.

Now I know you mentioned timing source and conference, but how about IAX truck? Up until now I have never managed to get a SAIL to SAIL trunk working bi-directional with any of the above. With a little reading I tried a setting in the IAX.conf, and set the trunk=no, immediately the trunks worked both ways. Am I to assume with my limited knowledge that IAX SAIL to SAIL needs a timing source to work? Could not find the implications on this setting thus far, only a brief mention on timing not being present.

Debian / Couple of things
January 15, 2016, 04:02:53 PM
Hi chaps.

Think I may have found a slight bug in the create a truck. I have been using VOIPON for my IAX truck, this was on version 3 with SME server. Thought it was about time I updated my home server to version 4 on Debian.

When I enter the initialization string or the secret,  the password never seemed to save properly. Always missing characters. The password I had was [%k+N,<9D] Seems that Sail removes anything after the "<"  I also tried this on my little s200, and that did the same. By changing the password to something else, that solved part of the problem. However now I can receive incoming calls, but cannot make any? It is as if it does not have route out? IAX is working to other Voip boxes fine, so it has to be something with VOIPON. Any ideas? as I remember this was a nightmare to get going on version 3, and you intervention solved it.

The instructions on the main site for the Deb install worked like a dream I might add.

Regards Paul.

Seems it does not like the registration?
Confirmed the client was ok, connected to my old Sail system. Tried also recreating the account, even simplified the passwords. Same thing.

Debian / Rasberry Pi and UK language pack
February 08, 2015, 03:01:07 PM
Finger back in the pi for a bit of fun,

Just got my hands on a B+ have to say seems to work very well with SAIL. However, thought I would install the UK Language Extra's Pack from Digium. Now I get "Press the Pound key" from and English guy! Why Pound key? Seem to recall this was an issue a long while ago and the Devs had their own version which could be installed? Is there such a thing for V4 and the Pi?
