Well there ends a tale. Which probably explains a lot.

After doing the import a second time, from a clean machine install, I get the issue where I cannot edit any of the extensions or trunks! The small edit pencil is missing?
Is this something you were aware of happening? or is it that my DB appears to be corrupt?

Paul.

Not a problem about the delay.
It is something I would like to test prior to upgrading in anger. I followed the procedure, and only restored the DB, did the sh /opt/sark/scripts/srkV4reloader.sh and that ran fine as far as I could see. Next ran an incognito window to the pbx, and it appeared that all the setting had come over. However, none of my phone had registered, had a quick look at the obvious, ans sure enough it had not set the passwords for the registration on the phone?
So what did I do wrong?

Regards Paul.

I know this is an old topic, but would really like to know if their are any caveats or things I should do before and upgrade to Version 6 from 5?
As I have to go from 32Bit donor to 64Bit clean install. I was hoping it was nothing more than moving a backup between machines?

Second question, what is the latest version for Sark 200's ?

Hope you had a great Xmas? And lets hope we all have a good 2020 !

Hi,
Perhaps I am missing something here, but on the earlier V5 you used to be able to put the day as a "*", and a date of the "25", and the month "Dec". So that it would auto each year. However now on V6 it seems you have to put a year in?

Thanks Paul.

Debian / Just tried a V6 with Stretch (9)

Hi all

Had a few idle moments so thought I would fire up a Vm (Vmware) to have another play with version 6.

Cannot get it to install,  the error is this:-

Err:1 http://sailpbx.com/sail/sail-6.0/debs/repo stretch/main amd64 sail all 6.0.1-46+deb9u1
  404  Not Found
E: Failed to fetch http://sailpbx.com/sail/sail-6.0/debs/repo/pool/main/s/sail/sail_6.0.1-46+deb9u1_all.deb  404  Not Found
E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

Should I be trying this version? or the later 7 now? The only instructions I found were for Version 6?

Regards Paul

First chance I have had to have a play with V6, think something went wrong with the DB I moved over, as I cannot edit any of the extensions or trunks! There are no edit buttons, or anyway I can see to edit either. Only way to get at the config of a phone is by discover.

Will try a clean install and see how that goes. Just in case.

Brilliant, thanks for that clarification.
I think what baffled me was that if _XXXX did route all, why did it not route peers trunks? I have one friend who seems to be nocturnal, and was trying to make sure her went to the closed out of hours :-)

Need a bit of clarification for the entry below.

_XXXX.    Class    default    All    IVR Welcome    IVR Closed    None    NO    YES

Does that actually mean that *anything* coming in should go to the IVR Welcome? My understanding was that _XXXX. Was the default and should just route all?
Ideally I would even like 4 digit peers to go to the IVR too. (Annoying friends who call out of hours :-)  )
Now I must admit it has always been a mental block for me, so really appreciate your help.

Hi

Tell me more? Tablet & Smartphone?

Funnily enough I still use Ubuntu, but as you tended to lean towards the hairy chested Debian, I pretty much have followed suit. Hopefully after the nightmare of Christmas, I will have some more spare time to try it in anger.

Well ever the one to try anything. I ran up a VM with it on, copied a version 5 db over, and ran the script to upgrade it. Bingo! Seems to be working.
Was it intentional to remove the upload from the backup page?

Regards Paul.

Just did a clean install of V6, what an impressive product it now is!

Did try and upgrade but that failed, and I assume though lack of Wheezy version? That will teach me not to read everything on the page.

Quick question? Is it still possible to move the DB over to V6 and have it upgrade? as previous versions? Any caveats?

Happy New Year.

Paul.

cancel all that!

I found it! I have a typo on the firewall at the remote end. Problem solved.

Thank you so much for the hand holding to sort this.

Moved on a little further.

Have it working fine on local lan using Sips. Padlock appears when making calls.

I have now changed the settings on the phone to match the external IP of the gateway to the voip. Have opened ports for tcp 5061 on Sark and Gateway.
Set the extension to be remote with the Sark interface.

Not really understanding wireshark, bit beyond my intelligence level. However I captured this with tshark -f "tcp port 5061" -i any :-

459.370668 212.93.89.22 -> 10.81.0.4    TCP 76 pvuniwien > sips [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 SACK_PERM=1 TSval=528749 TSecr=0 WS=1

Not registered of course, as I am bound to have missed something.

Thankyou.

Thought I was suffering from wood for trees. Sadly no fixed IP address either, however could probably setup a dyndns for it.

Do I still need to add those items in the phone? Assume I should? Will reset the phone to make sure any duff config I may have added gets wiped.
The settings on identity are :-
Outbound proxy 10.81.0.4:5061;transport=tls
RTP AES80 RTP SAV to Mandatory

Will follow your suggestions and see how I go, thanks again.

General Discussion on SAIL and Asterisk / SRTP TLS
September 08, 2018, 10:48:25 AM
Hi.

Experimenting as I have been asked about remote phones for a customer, sadly VPN is not an option.

Found a document on you distributors blog:-
https://blog.provu.co.uk/tag/sark/

And pretty much followed what it said to the letter. Have managed to convert the pem I found on the sark box (must have been pre-generated on install) Converted that to DER which the snom wanted and uploaded to the phone fine. Enabled the server auth part. And I can see the cert in the server cert tab on the phone.

No some of the settings seem to equate to an earlier version of Sark? And I was loathed to start fiddling with conf files without knowledge. So in the extensions I have selected TLS SRTP but looking at the asterisk tab in extension I see this at the bottom :- #include sark_sip_tls.conf
Is that supposed to be hashed out?
The settings on identity are :-
Outbound proxy 10.81.0.4:5061;transport=tls
RTP AES80 RTP SAV to Mandatory

At this stage the phone will not connect, and I wonder if there is any further documentation specific to Sark 5 that would help me understand, resolve the problem?

Regards Paul.
