Title: Single way comms with IAX truck
Post by: drifting on February 02, 2016, 11:22:53 AM
Ever one to make myself look dumb.

But I need to clear this one up in my head. I have two raspi sails and a Debian virtual sail on my test bench.

Now I know you mentioned timing source and conference, but how about IAX truck? Up until now I have never managed to get a SAIL to SAIL trunk working bi-directional with any of the above. With a little reading I tried a setting in the IAX.conf, and set the trunk=no, immediately the trunks worked both ways. Am I to assume with my limited knowledge that IAX SAIL to SAIL needs a timing source to work? Could not find the implications on this setting thus far, only a brief mention on timing not being present.

Regards P

Yes indeed.  IAX needs a timing source in order to use trunking.   Since the smaller systems have no such source you must use trunk=no.

Thanks for clearing that one up.

Wanted to spend some time understanding routing calls between systems, hence the 3 devices.

Thanks Paul.
